Maintenance Technician / Handyman
Location: Whakatāne
Hours: Approx. 30 hours per week, with up to 10 additional
hours available for on-call and overtime work as required
Employment Type: Permanent Part-Time (with flexibility)
About the Role
We are seeking a reliable, skilled Maintenance Technician
/ Handyman to join our property management and maintenance team.
This role
involves carrying out a wide range of property repairs and maintenance tasks
while maintaining a high standard of workmanship and professionalism.
You will be working across residential and commercial
properties, interacting directly with clients and tenants, and using digital
systems to manage jobs, quotes, time, and expenses.
Key Responsibilities
- General
handyman and maintenance work (repairs, maintenance, minor building works)
- Diagnosing
issues and providing clear, accurate repair solutions
- Preparing
and submitting quotes for maintenance works
- Correctly
tracking time, materials, and expenses using company systems
- Using
technology daily (job management software, mobile apps, email)
- Professional
interaction with clients, tenants, and property owners
- Maintaining
company vehicle, tools, and equipment
- On-call
and overtime work as required
About You
- Minimum
2 years’ experience in handyman work, building, repairs, or
property maintenance
- Confident
across a broad range of maintenance tasks
- Strong
organizational skills with excellent attention to detail
- Comfortable
using technology and digital job systems
- Able
to quote accurately and manage job costs effectively
- Professional,
well-presented, and reliable
- Strong
communication and customer service skills
- Full,
clean driver’s license (essential)
